The Ceremony
New Years Eve is a busy time in Brisbane City and South Bank so we recommend catching public transport, a cab or an uber to The Gardens Club (Brisbane City Botanic Gardens) where we will have our ceremony.
Parking - The Gardens Club (Brisbane City Botanic Gardens)
Parking is very limited around the botanic gardens, however if you do need to drive the closest public car park locations are:
- QUT Under freeway car park (no pre-paid parking avalible)
- 126 Margaret Street, Brisbane (pre-paid parking avalible)
The Reception
Our reception is at the Rydges South Bank, just across the river. If you would like to get some fresh air and enjoy the sites of Brisbane jump on a ferry, e-scooter or walk across the bridge. If you need to drive, please note that parking options are limited in South Bank and considering it is New Years Eve we highly recommend you pre-book parking. Keep reading to see carparks nearby.
Ferry
When you are ready to head over to the Rydges:
- Walk down Gardens Point Rd to QUT Gardens Point ferry terminal, Brisbane City
- Jump on the F1 Northshore Hamilton / UQ St Lucia ferry (Towards UQ St Lucia)
- Disembark at South Bank ferry terminal, South Brisbane
Enjoy a short 600m walk to Rydges South Bank. Ferries dock every 15-20 minutes.
E-scooter or Walking
The walk to Rydges South Bank from The Gardens Club is around 25 minutes. If you are interested in taking a stroll (or scoot) walk down Gardens Point Rd and cross the Goodwill Bridge. After crossing the bridge continue along little Stanly Street.
Usually e-scooters can be found at the entry to the Goodwill Bridge at the bottom of Gardens Point Rd. Ride at your own risk x
Please double check your route before committing to the journey. The Goodwill Bridge might be closed in the afternoon to set up for New Years Eve fireworks.
